How much experience does Music That Moves You have?

Music That Moves You started doing business in 1993 at a local nightclub in Rutland from time to time. As time went on I started doing private parties, company events, school dances, and wedding receptions in 1995. Since that time Music That Moves You has been steadily getting much busier each year. Currently dates book quickly and at times are reserved over a year in advance. With over 14 years of experience you are sure to get what you are looking for.

What period of time am I actually charged for?

Music That Moves You charges for actual playtime. You are not charged for setup time or the time it takes to break down the equipment when done. You are also not charged for any time that is spent coordinating your event, whether it is time spent in meeting with you or time on the phone.
You are charged from the time the first song is played until the end the last song played. At times a customer may receive an extra 15-20 minutes of playtime at no cost depending on the crowd, this is entirely at the discretion of Music That Moves You.

What do I need to do to reserve a date?

To reserve a date a reservation fee must be paid. The reservation fee is 30% of the total cost of the services you are requesting. No date will be held for any customer without a reservation fee being paid. If you definitely want a date reserved it is recommended that you pay the reservation fee with a credit card by telephone. As soon as the transaction is authorized the date is reserved. This is done while we are on the phone.

How far away will Music That Moves You travel?

Music That Moves You covers primarily the Rutland area and a radius of 25 miles from Rutland. I have played in Middlebury VT, Manchester VT, Woodstock VT, Ludlow VT,  Dresdin NY, Lincoln NH, and Colchester VT. As stated on the homepage I attempt to be very flexible, there is an additional cost for extended travel time, the additional charges are based on travel time from the city of Rutland.

Is Music That Moves You available for additional time at an event?

Usually additional time can be added the day of the event. Occasionally there may be a second event scheduled for the same date and it may not always be an option. If you feel your group is really going to party you may wish to consider reserving more time than the minimum 4 hours, if you have not reserved additional playtime no guarantee is made or implied that playtime will be extended. Payment is expected at the time of the request to continue playing. Cash is accepted at that time as well as Visa or Mastercard.

Does Music That Moves You offer Karaoke?

Is Music That Moves You insured?

Music That Moves You is covered by $1,000,000 liability insurance. This is done for the protection of Music That Moves You as well as the people that contract with Music That Moves You. If your DJ damages something or a guest gets hurt do you know who's financial responsibility it is. You should look into this important matter. Few Disc Jockeys are willing to pay for this insurance but risk being out of business if they have one problem at an event. I am not willing to take that risk and wish to be around for the many events scheduled in the future. Many municipalities, schools and venues are beginning to require Disc Jockeys to have insurance.

How diverse is your music collection?

The collection consists of over 2014 compact disks which vary from music in the 1940's to today's most current hits. Music That Moves You has a subscription to TM Century which supplies music to professional Disc Jockeys and radio stations so that we have the music 2-3 months before it is released to the general public. If you need music for your event that is not currently in the collection Music That Moves You will purchase it at no additional cost to you.
