Dear Art,
This is a long overdue e-mail regarding your excellent job as DJ at our wedding
on
August 16, 2003
in Vermont.
Please accept my apologies for not expressing our appreciation sooner! Things
have, of course, been busy since the wedding, and I have just now been going
through some of the wedding video footage. In doing so, I remembered what a
great job you did with our somewhat difficult requests, how patient and
accommodating you were, and how expertly you pieced together our many
"must-plays" in a limited amount of time! No other DJ we spoke with
understood what we wanted like you did, and we really appreciate that! It was
all greatly appreciated!
Your professionalism and experience really showed through, and it helped make
that evening exactly what we wanted. It truly was "our night," with
our music and all! We and, I think, all of our guests had a truly amazing
evening, and we owe that in great part to you. We know that we charged you with
a difficult task -- to make a diverse crowd happy with the specific and limited
play list we gave you -- and we were very happy with the whole thing!
Thank you very much!
Best regards,

This is a letter I received
from a couple that is from out of state and came to Vermont for their wedding.
It was a large outdoor reception with a large fireworks display and guests
coming from all over the country. Their music requests were very specific and
allowed no music to be played from my own collection, they provided a list of
approximately 150 songs from artists that are not usually requested at events in
this area. I agreed to do the reception when no others they had spoken to would.
Most DJ's will not limit themselves to a specific "play-list" because
it is very risky if the crowd doesn't like the type of music. I also had to
commit about 8-10 additional hours to listening to the music selections they
gave me and see how the songs would best fit together. This is not typical for
wedding receptions but as I have stated throughout the website and in my
conversations with customers, it is "your" event and I am there to
make things go smoothly and entertain your guests.
I would not recommend that most people be so specific with the
play-list but, as things turned out at this very nice reception things went very
well.
